Maine Moose River Bow Canoe Trip

Maine Moose River Bow Canoe Trip

Overview

The upper Moose River outside of Jackman Maine meanders slowly for miles through prime Maine wildlife habitat. The Moose River Bow Trip makes an excellent 3-4 day canoe trip, suitable for families, scouts and small groups.  The river is swift moving and is punctuated by several short ledge drops and rapids that can be run, portaged or lined if necessary. There are many river and lakeside wilderness campsite along the way.  We stop at Holeb Falls to explore the falls, and surprising mountain vistas appear and reappear as the river winds its way to Attean Pond. An optional hike up nearby Sally Mountain provides an encompassing view of this unique and scenic region, or ad on a whitewater-rafting trip on the Kennebec River.
