Funyaks or Raft (ages 5 and up)
With splashes of whitewater and a steady current this classic Maine rafting trip is perfect for a lazy day on the river or a family trip. Checking in daily at 1:00. You can choose from a guided raft trip, or enjoy captaining your own raft. Moxie Outdoor Adventures provides all equipment including funyaks or a raft, life jackets, paddles, and shuttles. Guides and snacks provided on guided raft trips.
From Points South:
I-95 North to Exit 133 in Fairfield, Maine. Follow Rte 201 North 65 miles to The Forks. Pass through Skowhegan and then Bingham (23 miles to The Forks). Once you reach The Forks look for our signs. The first one you will see is our office sign continue past for seven miles you will see our blue sign and the bridge crossing the Kennebec River. Take the right BEFORE THE BRIDGE turn onto the Moxie Road. DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE follow the Moxie road for 5 miles it will end at Lake Moxie look for the second blue sign. Turn right onto the dirt road go 2/10ths of a mile we you will see us on the left.
From Points North:
Take I-95 south to Exit 157 in Newport. Take Rte 2 West to Skowhegan. In Skowhegan take Rte 201 North. Pass through Skowhegan and then Bingham (23 miles to The Forks). Once you reach The Forks look for our signs. The first one you will see is our office sign continue past for seven miles you will see our blue sign and the bridge crossing the Kennebec River. Take the right turn BEFORE THE BRIDGE onto the Moxie Road. DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE follow the Moxie Outdoor Adventures road for 5 miles it will end at Lake Moxie look for the second blue sign. turn right onto the dirt road go .2 miles we you will see us on the left.
You should bring the following:
* Bathing suit or shorts you can get wet
* River shoes sneakers or securely fastening sandals are fine
* Windbreaker Wool sweater, socks, hat in spring and fall
* Cooler or drybag with snacks or lunch
* Sunscreen, camera, bug spray, bottle of water.
* Change of clothes, including dry footwear and towel
